I probably will go through it myself this week, but I just wanted to let you know since I think it’s quite great.
Imagine you are the CEO of a news and media organization like the BBC. Since BBC has been around for 99 years, next year will truly be a huge year for them.
I’ve been rambling for the past century, though. Imagine that as a director of the BBC, you are responsible for making the archives of the thousands or perhaps millions of pieces that the organization has produced available to the public.
In essence, you are providing access to every historical piece ever published by the BBC, and this is the intriguing part: you want to categorize them.
However, you need to categorize millions of historical documents. What will you do, then? You have two options, then. Either you’ll employ a lot of interns and put them through hell,
NLP has gotten quite simple. Have you heard about NLP algorithms, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) replacing journalists by creating very intelligent articles on their own without any human input?
A bit hard and unattainable in the future seems like something you can only achieve with a Ph.D. Let’s present this algorithm again in two lines.
Let’s look at the first line we taught you in this course and see how this algorithm will complete it. It goes without saying that this is far from ideal and that you would never publish it.
This is only to demonstrate to you that it is possible to access and utilize the generating potential of NLP models. The next example of named entity recognition that anybody has heard of can be done in two lines of code.
The head of Amazon’s digital technology division. If such a position exists, you would be in charge of the chatbot that responds to inquiries from customers regarding refunds, lost packages, and other such issues.
Now that you have a variety of consulting teams with specialties in different fields, you can classify complaints based on characteristics like client location or a problem type called entity recognition, and the complaint can then be automatically forwarded to the team that should address it.
Nice and efficient, or nice because efficient, without the need for human intervention. I prefer efficiency, therefore I don’t believe it will surprise you when I tell you that this is possible.
