Shri Krishna’s effort to Stop the War of Mahabharata.

Before starting a war, a peace proposal was sent by one side to the other in the olden times. The purpose of this prosal was that if both sides agreed with one particular solution, then the war could be avoided with ease.

The same thing has also happened in the case of Mahabharata too. Despite Duryodhana was not agreed to the proposal of peace, Vidura and Bhism Pitamaha invited Pandavas to offer a peace proposal to stop the destructive war of the Mahabharat.

When the Pandavas came to know about this proposal, they were very happy because they also did not want to create a situation of war with their beloved brothers. Pandavas informed the intention of Vidura and Bhishma Piatamah to stop the war of Mahabharata by sending the peace proposal.

Arjuna, Kunti, Draupadi, and all other Pandavas had great faith in Shri Krishna. They knew very well that Shri Krishna would never think bad for them. That’s why they all had decided to make Shri Krishna a peacemaker from their side and eventually, Vasudev also agreed with their decision.

What happened when Shri Krishna reached Hastinapur?

Here one thing that will be worth noting for you that when Shri Krishna reached Hastinapur, he was welcomed with great pomp by the Kauravas. Seeing this welcome, he felt that the Kauravas have agreed to accept the peace proposal.

The next day, when Shri Krishna made a peace proposal in the court of Hastinapur, everyone has accepted his proposal except Duryodhana. Duryodhana did not like the proposal made by him at all.

Moreover, the arrogant Duryodhana also insulted Shri Krishna in front of everyone. When Vidura and Bhishma Pitamah opposed this act of Duryodhana, he also insulted both of them as well. Even he didn’t listen to his father Dhritrashtra’s words.

The selfish and arrogant Duryodhana also ordered the army of Hastinapur to arrest Shri Krishna immediately and ordered them to make him a prisoner. Such an insult to a peace messenger was always against religion. So from above, we can clearly mention that Duryodhana was the main antagonist and culprit for the war of Mahabharat.
