Beetroot is known for its many health benefits, but did you know that it can also be used to make a nourishing and moisturizing lip balm? Beetroot lip balm is an all-natural alternative to traditional lip balms that are filled with chemicals and preservatives. Making your own beetroot lip balm is not only fun and easy, but it can also save you money in the long run. In this article, I will explain how to make beetroot lip balm in detail.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of grated beeswax
- 1 tablespoon of shea butter
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of beetroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
Tools:
- Double boiler or a heat-safe bowl and a pot
- Small glass jar or container
- Spoon
- Measuring cups and spoons
Step 1: Melt the beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil
The first step in making beetroot lip balm is to melt the beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil together. You can do this using a double boiler or by placing a heat-safe bowl over a pot of boiling water. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can create one by placing a heat-safe bowl over a pot of boiling water. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl.
Add the grated beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil to the double boiler or heat-safe bowl. Heat the mixture over low heat until everything is melted and combined.
Once everything is combined, it’s time to pour the mixture into a container. You can use a small glass jar or any other container that you have on hand. Make sure the container is clean and dry before pouring the mixture in.
Carefully pour the mixture into the container and let it cool and solidify. This will take around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the temperature in your room.
